Joh Man X

Open SSHIt could happen to all of us. Whether we are traveling and are in need of internet to do a quick bank transaction, or we're at school and want to answer that intense love mail, we're just on an open network, ready to get hacked.

Joh Man X wants you to use your internet freely and safely, so none of your traffic shall be intercepted. We don't need to be afraid of what's behind IP #1, 'cause Joh Man X will help you to use a safe and secured tunnel for your traffic.

What is Project Private Tunnel?

Joh Man X has written a program to tunnel all HTTP and HTTPS traffic securely. It can also be used to tunnel other TCP traffic, but this would require advanced settings. Soon johmanx.com will publish this program, but for now we only update this page with the newest available source. We're planning on porting over to PHP5 and doing a version for Windows using Plink. This enables the true Micro$oft-fan to set up their own tunnel.

Available versions:

Downloads: http://tunnel.johmanx.com/

*Plink is a CLI for Putty. We need that to emulate an SSH client on Windows. More info.

How to play?
Starting the program with it's own interface:

Tunnel met interface

Running a preconfigured tunnel with one command:

Automatische tunnel

The source is available at http://tunnel.johmanx.com. Save the source into tunnel.py and run it using the samples above.

Next we set up our browser to use the tunnel. In this example we set up our tunnel on port 9999.

Setting up the proxy: step 1

Open your browser and open up your network settings.

Setting up the proxy: step 2

Use a manual proxy. Only fill the SOCKS host box: localhost, using port 9999. See to it that your browser is using SOCKSv5. Most new browsers come packed with this by default.

CAUTION! The field stating which IP or host should not use this proxy should be empty. If you know what you're doing, you should at least clear all references to localhost, 127.0.0.1 or corresponding.

Your tunnel is ready!
Enjoy the program!
